You will need:

​

Part 1 - Creating your stamp:

​

+ Cardboard tile - can be whatever size you would like your stamp to be.

​

+ Scissors

​

+ PVA Glue 

​

+ Paintbrush or Glue applicator/stick 

​

+ String

​

Part 2 - Printing:

​

+ The stamp you created in part 1

​

+ A plastic tile

​

+ Printing Ink - any colour

​

+ Roller 

​

If you do not have

printing ink you can use paint instead.

​

Step-by-step Guide:

​

Part 1 - Creating your stamp:

​

1) Collect the equipment listed in the 'you will need' box.

​

2) Coat your cardboard tile with a thick layer of PVA glue.

​

3) Lay your string in a shape on top of the glue. 

​

- You can do one continuous shape or cut your string into parts to create different shapes.

​

4) Leave the stamp to dry until the glue has turned clear.

​

TOP TIP:

ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT YOUR DESIGN WILL BE BACKWARDS WHEN YOUR PRINT IT AS YOU FLIP THE CARD!

Part 2 - Printing:

​

1) Collect the equipment listed in the 'you will need' part 2 box.

​

2) Coat your roller in printing ink making sure there is not too much or too little ink on it.

​

3) Gently roll the ink onto your stamp making sure that all of the string is coated.

​

4) Flip your stamp onto the piece of paper and press down on the back firmly.

​

- You may want to use another roller to do this.

​

5) Lift your stamp and the print should appear on your page.

​

WHY NOT TRY:

- Using different coloured paper to print onto

​

- Using different colours to create your print as shown in the picture and video

​

- Covering one half of your print in one colour and the other half in another colour.

​

- Layering different colours on top of eachother 

​

- Creating a range of different stamps to use together

​

_ Use different materials other than string to create differnt textures.

E.g. Paper, Cardboard or Corn.
