+ Scissors

+ PVA Glue

+ Paintbrush or Glue applicator/stick

+ String

Part 2 - Printing:

+ The stamp you created in part 1

+ A plastic tile

+ Printing Ink - any colour

+ Roller

If you do not have

printing ink you can use paint instead.

Step-by-step Guide:

Part 1 - Creating your stamp:

1) Collect the equipment listed in the 'you will need' box.

2) Coat your cardboard tile with a thick layer of PVA glue.

3) Lay your string in a shape on top of the glue.

- You can do one continuous shape or cut your string into parts to create different shapes.

4) Leave the stamp to dry until the glue has turned clear.

TOP TIP:

ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT YOUR DESIGN WILL BE BACKWARDS WHEN YOUR PRINT IT AS YOU FLIP THE CARD!

Part 2 - Printing:

1) Collect the equipment listed in the 'you will need' part 2 box.

2) Coat your roller in printing ink making sure there is not too much or too little ink on it.

3) Gently roll the ink onto your stamp making sure that all of the string is coated.

4) Flip your stamp onto the piece of paper and press down on the back firmly.

- You may want to use another roller to do this.

5) Lift your stamp and the print should appear on your page.

WHY NOT TRY:

- Using different coloured paper to print onto

- Using different colours to create your print as shown in the picture and video

- Covering one half of your print in one colour and the other half in another colour.

- Layering different colours on top of eachother

- Creating a range of different stamps to use together

_ Use different materials other than string to create differnt textures.

E.g. Paper, Cardboard or Corn.
